The Mississippi Parent Training and Information Center, a project of the Mississippi Coalition for Citizens with Disabilities, provides information and support to parents of children and youth with disabilities. If you are the parent of a child with a disability, age birth to 26, we are here to provide your family with information, resources, support, and training to help your child meet his or her educational goals.

We are help youth with disabilities, age 14 to 26, develop skills to become self-advocates and learn about services to help them lead a productive adult life. Services available to parents and youth with disabilities are always free and available in a variety of ways:

MSPTI provides services that…..

  • Help children and youth receive appropriate special education services
  • Empower parents to make informed decisions about their child’s education and communicate more effectively with professionals
  • Help families and schools understand IDEA and how it benefits students with disabilities
  • Help youth with disabilities understand their rights and empower them to become self-advocates
  • Improve outcomes for children and youth with disabilities
